OscillatorsTwo independent oscillators — Saw (rich harmonics), Tri (warm, softer), Sine (pure tone). Each oscillator runs as three unison voices slightly detuned against each other — this creates the characteristic width and organic shimmer without any external effect. OSC 2 can be tuned down one or two octaves for body and depth. Both run through the same filter and effects chain.
Filter 24dBResonant lowpass ladder filter. Cutoff sets the brightness. Resonance adds a peak at the cutoff frequency — self-oscillates at high values. Env Amt controls how far the filter opens on each note attack. Lo-Fi narrows the frequency band from both ends, creating a telephone or tape speaker character.
ShapeAttack / Release — envelope of each note. Long attack for slow pad swells. Make Wide — Juno-style BBD chorus. Off / I / II / I+II. Three bucket-brigade delay lines at fixed Roland rates create the characteristic shimmer and stereo spread. Tape Flutter — slow pitch wobble via LFO on oscillator detune. Simulates the mechanical instability of a tape machine. Bitcrush — reduces bit depth from 16-bit down to 2-bit. Adds digital grit and texture. Reverb — synthetic convolution reverb with a long tail.
PlayingConnect a MIDI keyboard — it appears automatically in the preset row. Or use the computer keyboard: A S D F G H J K L for white keys (C3–D4), W E T Y U O P for black keys. Hold Shift to play one octave lower. Up to 5 voices simultaneously — the five dots in the top right light up to show which voice slots are active.
Randomize
The randomize button generates a new patch by randomly selecting oscillator types, filter settings, envelope times, chorus mode, and effects amounts. Use it as a starting point and adjust from there.
